To honor the police officers and personnel of Madhya Pradesh for their dedicated service in maintaining law and order, a DGCR (Director General’s Commendation Roll) Award Ceremony was held on Wednesday at the Police Officers Mess, Police Headquarters. DGP Sudhir Saxena presented commendation certificates and discs to 51 police officers and personnel for their remarkable work in various fields. On this occasion, DGP Mr. Saxena praised the dedication and commitment of all police personnel. He emphasized that their relentless efforts in controlling crime and ensuring public safety, despite numerous challenges, have set an exemplary standard of public service. He also acknowledged the significant support of their families in their success. He urged the police to remain sensitive towards the weaker sections and women while controlling crimes. Encouraging Police Morale through Such Events: DGP In the ceremony held at the PHQ Officers Mess, DGP Mr. Saxena remarked that the Madhya Pradesh Police Department has made invaluable contributions in maintaining law and order, peace, mutual love, and brotherhood since its inception. He stated that recognizing the work of police personnel fosters a culture of excellence. He encouraged all police officers and personnel in the state to draw inspiration from these honorees. He pointed out that the police have no personal life and must always be ready to perform their duties amid challenges. Therefore, organizing such events to honor and motivate those who excel in their duties is crucial. DGP Mr. Saxena mentioned that, besides the 51 officers and personnel honored in this event, many others have also done excellent work. He urged all officers to identify such individuals within their units and recognize them accordingly. He also noted that the Madhya Pradesh Police Department is continuously striving to enhance the efficiency and working environment for all police officers and personnel. Continuous self-assessment and unwavering dedication are essential for improving police performance. State-Level Decoration Ceremony Initiated Last Year The tradition of awarding the Director General’s Commendation Roll (DGCR) is a distinguished practice among uniformed forces, where the head of the force publicly honors officers/personnel for their outstanding work to boost morale. Since 2023, DGP Mr. Saxena has given this award ceremony a grand format.

Selected officers/personnel are invited to the Police Headquarters and honored in a prestigious ceremony in the presence of senior officers. In November 2022, the first ceremony honored selected officers/personnel for their exceptional performance. The award is given in the following categories: Outstanding achievements during anti-dacoit, anti-Naxal, and other operations. Maintaining excellent and clean records for 15 years. Driving vehicles excellently and accident-free for 15 years. Solving unsolved cases. Other commendable work.
